North Shore Bank is a locally-owned and managed, independent, community bank that has been operating in the Duluth area for over 100 years! Our Investments & Trust department is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join our team! The Portfolio Manager works closely with our administrators by providing communication, education and investment recommendations on individual, foundation and Trust investment portfolios. The candidate must be able to discuss various investment approaches, portfolio positioning, performance drivers and views on capital markets and the economy. Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Shared responsibility for the growth of the investment portfolio
  • Manage the operational aspect of the department’s investment management function
  • Delivery of exceptional customer service, including extensive knowledge of investment management, portfolio positioning, performance drivers and views on capital markets and the economy
  • Commitment to retaining and developing client relationships while supporting a positive working environment
  • Passionately support the Bank’s and the Department’s mission, core values and long-term objectives
  • Resolved to continuously learn and evolve in the investment industry through research and development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; CFP, CFA and/or MBA designation preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in wealth management or investment management with proven experience in investment and financial assets management as an analyst or assistant manager in a financial institution environment
  • Ability to work within a team and individually while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
