When you apply for pre-approval or apply for a mortgage,
a mortgage underwriter checks your application information
and sometimes approves you contingent on supplying a
few additional documents. We may ask you for:
- Copy of your purchase agreement
- Copies of your federal tax returns for the last
3 years if your application is for a first-time homebuyer
loan.
- Copies of w-2's for the last 2 years.
- Most recent pay stubs covering a consecutive 30-day
period.
- Bank statements for the most recent 2 months for
all bank accounts or investment accounts.
- Annual real estate taxes for the home you are buying
(if known).
- Check for appraisal
and credit report.
If you are self-employed:
- year-to-date profit and loss statement.
- A current balance sheet.
- Complete copies of the last 2 years personal tax
returns and corporate or partnership tax returns with
all schedules if you receive social security or pension
income.
- A copy of the latest entitlement letter and terms
of payment.
